“We focus on women’s empowerment, celebration, and fighting discrimination and disenfranchisement around the world; from boardrooms and venture capital to politics and social movements. But this means all women—of all kinds, in all places, facing all situations. Empowerment is an issue of inclusion and justice. That’s why we’re proud to celebrate LGBTQ women this June in honor or pride month, as people around the United States and the world come together to take a stand against discrimination and violence toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and other members of the LGBTQ community—and to honor and celebrate successes and progress, as well as recognize steps still needed for inclusion and equality.”

Join the Executive Committee:
We have filled the second Executive Co-Chair role. Let’s all welcome Alona McCreary into her new position.
We are seeking a second Events Co-Chair and Mentorship Co-Chair committee member.
Events Co-Chair duties include:
- Guide committee in developing and planning larger events (ex: panels/ mini-conferences). This includes scheduling regular meetings with the committee, working with the Executive Committee on strategic planning and WIT goals, and aligning the work of the events committee to support those goals and the community’s needs.
- Monthly engagement opportunities (ex: coffee hours/happy hours).
- Work closely with the Finance Committee on the events budget.
Mentorship Co-Chair duties include:
- Attending and organizing bi-weekly committee meetings
- Guiding two mentorship cohorts a year
- Provide resources and guidance for mentor relationships
